From humble beginnings to international champion - discover the journey of dedication, faith, and precision that defines Branden Fitzgerald
Growing up with a deep love for the outdoors, my journey began not with competitive shooting, but with hunting and fishing alongside family. The precision required for ethical hunting naturally translated to clay target sports.
At age 13, I picked up my first shotgun for clay target shooting. What started as a little first lesson quickly revealed a natural talent (I shot a 23 in my first round) and an insatiable hunger for improvement. The discipline and focus required resonated with my competitive spirit.
My faith has been the cornerstone of this journey from the beginning. Every morning before practice, every competition, and every outdoor adventure begins with prayer and gratitude for the abilities God has given me.
Age Started Shooting
First Competition
From local club competitions to international championships, each step has been guided by faith, determination, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
In less than two years of competitive shooting, I achieved what many consider impossible - international championship titles. This rapid ascent wasn't luck, but the result of talent, dedicated practice, mental preparation, and trust in God's plan.
Each competition teaches valuable lessons about pressure, precision, and perseverance. Whether facing Olympic-level competitors or representing my country as an independent athlete, I approach every shot with the same preparation and faith that brought me to this level.

"Every shot is a prayer, every competition a testament to integrity and sportsmanship. I strive for excellence not only for personal glory, but to honor the gifts God has given me, competing with honor and inspiring others to pursue their own paths of excellence with virtue."
My love for the outdoors extends far beyond the shooting range. Hunting, fishing, and wilderness exploration fuel my competitive spirit and deepen my connection with nature.
From the Rocky Mountains to dense forests, I pursue elk, deer, and other game with the same precision and patience that defines my competitive shooting. Each hunt is an opportunity to connect with nature and practice ethical hunting principles.
Years Experience
Successful Hunts
Seven years of fly fishing experience across blue ribbon fisheries in the northwest and beyond. The precision of casting and reading water translates perfectly to my shooting skills, creating a beautiful synergy between my outdoor pursuits.

Having explored over 35 states, I've developed a deep appreciation for America's diverse landscapes. From backcountry camping to challenging mountain hunts, each adventure strengthens my character and provides perspective that enhances my competitive performance.
These experiences teach patience, observation, and respect for nature - qualities that directly translate to better performance on the shooting range and a deeper understanding of conservation ethics.
Every outdoor pursuit follows ethical guidelines and supports conservation efforts. I believe in responsible stewardship of wildlife and natural resources for future generations.
At the heart of every achievement, every shot, and every outdoor adventure lies an unshakeable faith that guides my actions and shapes my character.
My relationship with God isn't compartmentalized - it's woven into every aspect of my life. From morning prayers before competitions to moments of gratitude in nature's cathedral, faith provides the strength, humility, and purpose that drive my journey.
Every victory is received with humility, knowing that my talents are gifts to be stewarded responsibly. Every setback is met with prayer and perseverance, trusting in God's greater plan for my life and career.
Starting each day and competition with prayer, seeking guidance and strength from above.
Using my platform to inspire young athletes and support faith-based outdoor ministries.
Honoring God through responsible stewardship of His creation and wildlife.
- Psalm 136:1 (NIV)
This verse has been my guiding light through victories and defeats, successful hunts and empty-handed returns. Every competition, every outdoor adventure is an opportunity to trust in God's plan and find purpose beyond personal achievement.
The principles that guide every decision, every shot, and every interaction both on and off the range. They must pass the SMELL's test (S-Spirtual, M-Moral, E-Ethical, L-Legal, L-Long Lasting). If something smells good by these standards, it is highly considered. If not, I’m out. Simple as that.
Pursuing the highest standards in competition, training, and character. Excellence isn't just about winning - it's about giving your absolute best in everything you do.
Maintaining the highest ethical standards in competition and life. True victory means nothing without honor, honesty, and respect for opponents and the sport.
Recognizing that all talents are gifts to be stewarded responsibly. Success is received with gratitude and used as a platform to inspire and serve others.
Pushing through challenges, setbacks, and failures with unwavering determination. Every missed shot is a learning opportunity, every defeat a chance to grow stronger.
Caring for the environment, wildlife, and natural resources. Every outdoor pursuit is conducted with respect for creation and future generations.
Sharing knowledge and experience with the next generation of athletes. Success is multiplied when used to elevate others and build stronger communities.
These aren't just words on a page - they're the foundation of every training session, every competition, and every interaction with fans, competitors, sponsors, and every new person I meet. Character is built in the small moments, tested under pressure, and revealed through consistent action.
